The Regional Gifted Parent-Teacher Institute provides an opportunity for parents and teachers of gifted children to learn from leading experts in the field about the unique needs of gifted students and how to best support them . The focus of this year's Institute is on the Social And Emotional needs of gifted individuals. 

Keynote speakers are:

Deb Douglas, consultant and author of  The Power of Self-Advocacy for Gifted Learners:  Teaching the Four Essential Steps to Success,

Dr. Paul Beljan , psychologist specializing in adult and pediatric neuropsychology and co-author of Misdiagnosis and Dual Diagnosis of Gifted Children and Adults will be the keynote speakers. 

There will be breakout sessions in the afternoon that will offer specifically focused strategies for teachers and parents to support gifted children.

The Regional Gifted Parent-Teacher Institute is sponsored by the Pima County School Superintendent's Office and the Southern Arizona Gifted Network.

Audience:  teachers, parents, family members, counselors, school administrators
