Social Emotional Learning is fundamental to academic success, and can be woven into the everyday work of educators in order to prepare our youth for college, careers, life!

This two day institute will provide  support for educators looking for research, information, and concrete strategies to intentionally enhance student wellness, increase teacher's classroom management, improve relationships, help students develop self-control and self-management, improve relationships throughout the school community,  and practice the social and emotional skills that help students be more successful in school and life. 

Keynote Address:  Navigating the Slippery Slope of Social Media, by Sheri Bauman, Ph.D., University of Arizona

Topics will include: 

  • diversity and equity
  • diversity and equity
  • handling the pressures of social media 
  • enhancing student wellness,  (suicide, self-harm,  anxiety, behavior and emotion management)
  • understanding the social emotional needs of gifted students and students with special needs,
  • diversity and equity
  • historical trauma 
  • and many more

Early Bird Registration Cost*  $125.000*

Cost includes keynote speakers, breakout sessions, continental breakfast, lunch, resource fair, networking, resources, 10.5 hours of PD credit, parking and more!

      Registration cost  $159  from March 4 - May 10, 2020

This summer institute is put on by SHIP, which is a partnership between the Office of the Pima County School Superintendent and the Pima County Health Department.

Media Policy

The Pima County School Superintendent's Office and its partners often take photographs and videos during events and workshops as they occur. By registering for this event and/or workshop you are granting permission to use these images to promote our programs in print, on the web, and on social media. 

Payment Policy

Payments must be received five (5) business days prior to the start of the class. Payments can be in the form of a check, credit card, P-Card, or a school purchase order. Cancellation & Refund Policy

No refunds will be made after May 1st.
