Completion of this training (45 contact hours, additional 45 hours completed independently) will qualify participant for AZ gifted provisional endorsement.  Individual districts must approve professional development hours per gifted endorsements regulations. This training will focus on best practices in gifted instruction including navigating national gifted standards, social and emotional growth, differentiated instruction, critical thinking, creative thinking and problem solving.

Interactive workshops will provide participants with a knowledge base in gifted education and highly effective, research based strategies for instructing gifted students.

  • Saturday, January 11   8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.:  Social and Emotional Needs of Gifted Students
  • Saturday, February 1   8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.:  Differentiated Instruction 
  • Saturday March 7   8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.: Critical  and Creative Thinking, Problem Solving and Questioning
  • Friday, April 3   4:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.:  STEM
  • Saturday, April 4  - 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.:   Inquiry and Project Based Learning 
  • Saturday, April 18   8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Best Practices in Gifted Instruction
Audience: Certified Teachers, Instructional Coaches and Administrators interested in obtaining a provisional gifted endorsement.

Facilitators: 

Marianne Landrith is the Program Director of Frameworks & Foundations and GiftED for the Pima County School superintendent's Office. Marianne has taught for 34 years in regular and gifted education. She has worked as a Teacher Trainer Mentor, Peer Coach Trainer, Program Facilitator and Career Ladder Peer Evaluator. She holds a B.A. in Elementary Education and an M.A. in Language, Reading and Culture.

Louise Till is a  coordinator in the gifted education program in Tucson Unified School District. Louise has worked as a classroom teacher, librarian, mentor, coach and professional development facilitator. She is a gifted endorsed certified teacher who has taught kindergarten through college. She has her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Creative Writing and is currently a board member of the Arizona Association of Gifted and Talented (AAGT).
